Heading: Ordinance (2007:1300) on instruction for the Swedish Agency for Development Evaluation
The Swedish Government provides the following:
Tasks
1 § The task of the Swedish Agency for Development Evaluation is to, independently or in cooperation with other actors
1. perform evaluations of the Swedish international development cooperation and of the reform cooperation in Eastern Europe, and
2. promote the development of evaluation capacity in the partner countries within the framework of the agency’s regular activities according to 1.
1 a § The agency’s evaluations shall address both results and effects of the development cooperation and efficiency of the use of development aid funds.
2 § The agency shall distribute information regarding the results of its evaluation to the Swedish Parliament, the Swedish Government, government offices and other stakeholders in Sweden and internationally.
3 § The agency may, within the framework of 1 §, perform assignments provided that this work does not challenge the status of the agency as being independent.
Cooperation
4 § The agency shall strive to cooperate with other significant national and international evaluation agencies or networks.
Information duty
5 § The agency may request from other central government departments the support and information it needs in order to complete its assignments satisfactorily, both concerning work in Sweden and work that Sweden supports through international organisations and partner countries.
Leadership
6 § The agency is directed by an agency director.
7 § The agency must have an advisory council consisting of no more than eight members.
Appointments and assignments
8 § The director general serves as agency director.
Fees
9 § The agency may charge fees for their operations in accordance with 3 §.
The sizes of the fees are to be determined by the agency.
