Statistics play an important role both internally and externally in planning, budgeting, controlling and accounting activities within the international development cooperation. This evaluation's purpose is to assess if the structure and sub-divisions for the classification of the international development cooperation activities are appropriate for both the internal and external needs. The evaluation also aims at assessing the quality of existing databases. The methodologies used are mainly document studies, interviews and sampling of the actual statistics.
By evaluating the quality and performance in relation to needs and demands, we will be able to create a baseline for adequate statistics, which can indicate how these systems should develop in order to be able to generate reliable and customized data for evidence based decisions. The evaluation will be published in November 2009.
